This is my first review for the Owlcrate subscription box.
Owlcrate is a YA book subscription box. Each month they send you a newly released YA book with some bookish goodies.
This month’s theme is Writer’s block.
The Cost: $29.99 plus shipping ($6.99 to US, $10.59 to Canada, $19.99 Worldwide)
The box includes a new ya book and 3-5 bookish goodies.
There were some great items included in this month’s box:
The Serpent King By Jeff Zentner
Dill has had to wrestle with vipers his whole life—at home, as the only son of a Pentecostal minister who urges him to handle poisonous rattlesnakes, and at school, where he faces down bullies who target him for his father’s extreme faith and very public fall from grace.
He and his fellow outcast friends must try to make it through their senior year of high school without letting the small-town culture destroy their creative spirits and sense of self. Graduation will lead to new beginnings for Lydia, whose edgy fashion blog is her ticket out of their rural Tennessee town. And Travis is content where he is thanks to his obsession with an epic book series and the fangirl turning his reality into real-life fantasy.
Their diverging paths could mean the end of their friendship. But not before Dill confronts his dark legacy to attempt to find a way into the light of a future worth living.
Next we got a card which explained what everything is in the box and where it came from. I really like the art that’s on the cover of the card.
There were two more card included in the box. One with a quote, and the other a special letter from the author himself.
We received some really cool bookish buttons in the box from bookworm boutique.
Next we have an adorable little book to write in which has a ton of questions to fill out about yourself.
Last but not least we get an awesome “feather” pen to use to write In your new book or any other book you want J
My overall thoughts on this box is that I would receive it again. It’s a great way for people who are into reading to receive new books by amazing authors and also some bookish items to put around their room or spice up their bookish photos.
